Welcome to Legerman Academy. This RP made by Celo and I is one that we are very, very proud to present to all of you. After several weeks of hard work and planning, we finally have everything ready for an OOC. This RP, I think, will be very fun for the whole community and will help increase the productivity and fun activities of the forum. We really hope it gains some interest, and if not, we plan to go on with it with whatever people we have, even if it's just the two of us.
Introduction
This RP takes place in a school for teenagers with supernatural abilities. The story mode is mostly sandbox, though you can talk to Celo and I about making more thorough plots and events for your characters and drawing them into the puzzles that make up the plots of our own. This is so that nobody has to do any work that they don't want to do, but are free to if they do. We only ask that you use character development. Now, onto the things you need to know for the RP.

- The World as We Know It:
The year is 2040 and the world has changed quite a bit in that short amount of time alone. Mostly in politics.
Changelings
It is known that for some time human children have gone missing and never reappear. But shortly after their vanishing, different children are put in their place. These children are called Changelings. Changelings are known to come from an alternate realm, which has never been reached before and nearly nothing is known about it. Many attempts have been made to enter this strange realm, but all have failed. Every scientist who chases after the dream of entering it is called a dreamer, a mad scientist, crazy, a fluke. It is said that Earth's realm and this alien realm form only a one-way passage, and things may flow to Earth from it, but nothing may flow from Earth to it. Over many years, this strange enigma of a realm has been called many names, although it's usually called Realm X.
Changelings themselves may appear as any normal human, or not. Every Changeling is different and while some may have subtle powers that would only identify them as a Changeling when they used them, others are much more obvious and have appearances that obviously give away their heritage. Some Changelings may look human, others may not.
Some Changelings, however, do not come from Realm X. They are made from normal humans, by strange unknown means. It is rare to find them, but occasionally a Changeling is called "Cursed" because another Changeling, one of arguably higher power, has placed a type of hex or spell on a human which has transmitted the Changeling blood into them. Scientists have tried to replicate this process with science, to no avail. To date "Cursing" is the only known was to transmit Changeling blood along with their powers into a human. Often a human's body will reject the Changeling blood if it is added through science, or the Changeling blood, if potent enough, may kill the human in the process. Cursed Changelings are the very first perfected medium between true Changeling and Human.
A Cursed Changeling will have a Curse Mark on their body somewhere, although usually easy to hide. It is assumed that if the Curse Mark is on a limb and that limb is cut off, then the curse is removed. Often effects that accompany Curses are loss of aging, tendency to attract dangerous situations, and changes in form.
Power Classes- Intellectual - The intellectual class involves any abilities that involve the mind, thought processes, and influence. This can be anything from omnilinguence to being able to influence decisions.
- Physiological (Physical) - Physiological-type changelings have superhuman physical aspects; these can include increases in strength, speed, etcetera. It only applies to those who can have these increases in physical aspects without changing forms. If one is able to change the amount of strength they have by changing forms, they wouldn’t fit in this class.
- Sensory - Some debate that this class can involve a mixture of intellectual and physiological abilities. The sensory class is made for any changelings who are able to either sense something a normal human being cannot sense or increase the senses of themselves and/or others. This class may include anything from controlling the amount of pain one feels/senses to having an “extra sense” such as detecting nearby changelings.
- Elemental - The title of this class should be explanation enough. Anything that involves elemental or energy control should be placed here.
- Form - A class for those who can change forms or are perhaps stuck in a “mutated” form. This can include shapeshifters and animal mutations.
- Other - For powers that just don’t fit anywhere else.
The Struggle for Existence
After many years of Changelings inhabiting earth, various factions across the globe come together in the US to collaborate and create a Changeling government. After large scale wars in the eastern world, many Changelings flee those areas where they are persecuted and enter America. However, the human US government is an enemy to the rising Changeling government which is trying to (as peacefully as possible) take control of both North and South America. The US government has devolved and is ruled by an oligarchy called the Fellowship. The Fellowship has made it clear that their primary goal in these times is to destruct the rising Changeling empire which challenges them. Their public face and publicized leader is a masked man who goes by the name Monarch.
The Changeling empire, which calls itself the Collective Changeling Primacy, or simply the Primacy, has begun to form. Bit by bit it has claimed territory, mostly in Mexico and South America, winning over small countries peacefully by means of negotiation, money, and other favors. It has gained enough land and people to keep itself standing and growing and now covers most of the land south of the US. Over time it has also managed to gain various parts of America, through strikes made to free bases which held captive Changelings who were considered enemies of the state. Just after the Fellowship declared war on the Primacy, military style academies were opened which harnessed the Changeling youth and trained them to become soldiers. However, these academies also work as general schools as well in certain areas.- Intellectual - The intellectual class involves any abilities that involve the mind, thought processes, and influence. - Legerman Independent School:
Legerman Academy is a military school meant to train Changelings but also teach them the basics of education. It is found about an hour from nearby civilization, this being for the sake of training the students.
History
The person who founded Legerman Academy is named Antony Legerman. One of the wealthy higher-ups in the Society of Conventional Magicians, among the Primacy, who is known for his stinginess with money. His involvement in the project was actually a bit shocking, especially since he has no children to attend the school (but even if he did have kids, he probably would have just hired a tutor). He contributed millions of dollars into the building project, helping to get Legerman School up and running relatively quickly.
Classes
There are several classes available on-campus, some of which being the basics, class training, Swimming, Weight Training, Art, Band, and many more. Other classes are designed to improve Changeling powers and teach students how to utilize their abilities. Many classes are unique and focus on a single goal, while others focus on entire power class fields.
Campus
The campus is organized in a circular formation, with the Administration building and the campus offices located in the very center. There is also an infirmary here.
The dorms are arranged in suite-dorm style. Each student has a personal dorm that’s connected to a front room that has three other dorms connected to it. This entire area is a suite, meaning the student usually has up to three suitemates. Suitemates can vary in age, but the school does try to pair suitemates of like ages or power classes together. The male and female dorms are separate from each other, but the layout of the dormitories are alike. The dormitories can be found near each other at the southern part of campus. The campus dorms can house up to 2500 people - 1250 males and 1250 females.
The student lounge can be found between the dormitories. It holds a TV with a couch, vending machines, ping pong tables- pretty much the usual things you would expect to find in a student lounge. Despite being a military facility, this was given as a privilege to increase student morale. Students are given various periods of free time throughout the day which they may spend here or doing other activities.
In the northern region of Legerman, the classrooms can be found. There’s a Fine Arts building for the creative classes and an Academic complex for the other educational programs. There’s a gymnasium with weight training rooms, a pool, etc. for the Physical Education classes located on the western side of campus. The gym is open all day in case any students need it.
There is a cafeteria located on the eastern side of campus. It is open at select times for breakfast, lunch, and supper, but students whose powers require more food than this are allowed to stop at other periods of the day. It has adequate food, but not a wide range of options served. Students are allowed to return to the line for seconds when needed.
Between the cafeteria and girls’ dorms, a study hall and post office can be found. The study hall has several couches, computers, and desks located in it. Internet activities are monitored closely.
Between the boys’ dorms and the gymnasium is the library. It offers a wide range of books available for both research and entertainment.
Campus Rules
There are many strict campus rules, but the most important are found here:- All students must return to their dormitories by 10:00 unless permitted by a teacher.
- Vandalism, thievery, harassment of other students, and other bad behaviors will not be tolerated.
- Disrespect of staff members will not be tolerated.
- Punctuation is important.

Rules
These rules have been put in place not only to keep the order of the RP, but also to increase its quality and make it a better project overall.
Game Masters
A Game Master (GM) is someone who manages an RP. It is often the person or people who have made the RP. Their word as far as the RP goes, is final.

Behavior- All forum guidelines apply. That means no flaming, spamming, arguing, etc.
- All disputes will be settled by the Game Masters. If it becomes a problem, moderators may step in.
I assume everyone knows how to behave here so I'll just leave it at that.
Character Entering- We're going to be very lax about your character's powers, but if we see them as too much or too powerful in any way, we will have to deny them. Also, for a good basis, try to give your characters powers that are useful in many ways, not just weapons and such. "I shoot fire" powers get kind of boring unless done extremely well. Your character cannot have mind reading powers or anything that infringes one of the rules of basic RP etiquette.
- If you enter an "evil" character, please make sure that they are realistic and have motives and backstories, and other things which may contribute to their twisted world views. No bad guys who are merely bad for the sake of being bad. If a character is "insane", please also be realistic about it and explain why.
- We won't be accepting very many Cursed characters. You are free to pitch ideas to us and we may choose to accept or deny yours. The idea behind the Cursed concept is that your character would have had to have been involved with some pretty shady, pretty advanced magicians.
- If you have read all the rules, write "Curse" in the "Key" section of the character sheet.
OOC Conduct- Please do not give away any spoilers to plotlines you know about that are meant to be kept secret.
- Discuss the RP in a civil manner.
- Chat at your leisure.
IC Conduct- No god-modding, meta-gaming, powerplay, spotlighting, etc. Basic RP etiquette, not hard to follow. If you don't know what these are, there should be guides in the stickies. Basically, be considerate of the other players.
- No killing other peoples' characters without their permission. If you have their permission, have at it.
- PLEASE no auto-ing. This means writing out the damage that an attack inflicts on a character instead of allowing the other player to determine how bad it hurts their character.
- PLEASE no mary-sue/gary-stu characters (characters that are "perfect" or don't change at all as people in the RP).
Please use character development, at least for the very main characters that you use in the RP.
- This is a literate RP. Please use proper spelling, grammar, caps, etc. Please post at least 1 paragraph per post (4 or 5 sentences). If there really is not anything left to say, then we'll excuse this.
Some things to be aware of:- In this RP, people will die. There will be a large deal of action.
- Some mature themes may be involved (ex: gore, drugs, violence, etc). However please don't go overboard.
- Characters are allowed to curse, however please try to keep it down to a minimum. If a curse word comes out of your character's mouth every four words, you will be asked to stop. Also please don't use curse words that are particularly more profane than the others simply so that it doesn't turn into something too mature for some peoples' comfort.
- Sex is allowed between characters, to an extent. Please use fade-to-black and other implications that such activities happened. Do not actually write out what happened.
If you have any other concerns, please PM a Game Master.- All forum guidelines apply. That means no flaming, spamming, arguing, etc.

Curse Marks are more akin to tattoos, I believe. However the actual curse itself could involve antlers. The Curse Mark is essentially the crux of the curse, not the curse itself.

My idea of gravity magic is that it woukd be a pretty damn hard and dangerous practice, considering the fact that you could accidentally kill yourself if you do it wrong. Think about it. You try to fly using gravity magic and you crush yourself. I also thought that it would be pretty tiring to use, so you can't use it for long periods at a time.

Ohhhh I like that idea. You should definitely explore that with your character.

The simple fact is that he often finds it very difficult to fit into social situations. He is somewhat hyperactive due to an effect of his power and often jumpy-acting. He can be loud when around friends, and loves to laugh. Ira often keeps to himself though, unless he knows someone already enough for him to do the opposite. He doesn't like to be a bother and that much is outwardly very clear about him. He also likes to joke a lot, likes to have a fun time. He's usually very polite as well. However, he gets a bit annoying to some people and he can be very absent-minded. It's hard for him to pay attention or focus sometimes and it is very obvious that this frustrates him deeply.
Inward Personality: Inwardly, Ira is very insecure about himself and can be overly self-critical. He's also a bit squeamish and timid. He is a sweet young man with a very big heart, and he is honest to do whatever he can to help someone. However he is often frustrated by social situations and when in private he may throw a little tantrum for venting reasons. He's also very neurotic and can worry too much. Ira doesn't do well in bad situations, either. He won't know what to do during an emergency and will panic when he has a chance to make the situation less traumatic.
/Skills: Ira loves engineering. He's built things and worked with mechanics all his life and it is something he's very passionate about. It is his greatest talent and he has impressed quite a sum of people with it.

He has fainted as well as been on borderline heart attack territory before, because of it. This power also causes Ira to sometimes have a hyperactive personality, which can be a pain. What class would gravity magic fit in with? I can't decide whether it is elemental or not. I'm also trying to figure out a way to dodge a gravity attack. Any advice?

Elemental would be fine and maybe if the person is able to move out of the range of the gravity control- perhaps whoever has the ability can only use their power on one area at a time?

Another idea worth considering: perhaps seconds before the character attacks, the area they plan to manipulate with gravity could be indicated by a light or color field or other identifier, that way people can see where they are going to strike and have a mere second or two to dodge. Doesn't have to be a visual thing either. Perhaps the target could feel something around them, like pressure. Kind of like how when you stand outside during a thunderstorm, sometimes you can feel the static electricity in the air. Instead of electricity, a target could feel mild pressure on their skin or top of their head, and they would know to move a second or two before the attack.

Physical Description: One of the very first things you'd notice about Noxis are his unnatural purple eyes. He has beige skin, shoulder length messy black hair, small ears and a small nose. He also has a slight stubble beard. His physique is average. Average height, and average weight. He is fit though, a little muscular, but not all that much.
Attire: He always has a black trenchcoat with him. He usually wears black or gray clothes, ranging from hoodies to T shirts. He usually wears black and purple running shoes or black boots. On formal occasions he wears a black suit with a purple tie. He often wears black gloves.
Personality
Outward Personality: He is very cold and distant to most, but this is only until he gets used to a person, often when the person has become their friend. Once he gets used to a person, he starts becoming kinder toward that person. He is, however, not really used to being social, and he is a bit socially awkward. He is nice toward those he likes, but in reality he is a sadist. He doesn't feel sentimental when he sees someone in pain. He doesn't feel remorse when he hurts someone. He tries to, but he just can't. This bothers him a lot, as it makes him think he himself is evil, even though he is not.
*Inward Personality: He is a bit of an overthinker. He always thinks about thinks extra hard. He thinks in a very sadistic, yet civilized manner. He is also very perverted on the inside. He is very proud of himself on the inside.

Powers
*Power Class: Elemental
*Power Description: Gravity manipulation. He can make medium ranged gravitational waves, able to push things back pretty hard. This does take 1-10 seconds to charge up, depending on the range and the power. He can also use his powers to make himself or other people/things fly. He can only do one thing at a time with gravity magic. If he is manipulating one area he can't manipulate another at the same time. When using gravity magic on others, the other person should be able to feel a bit of pressure for 2 seconds, before the actual attack. Manipulating gravity is also tiring, so he can't do it for long periods at a time. There are minor ways of using it though. Like enhancing his own speed/jump height by manipulating gravity. Of course, his gravity manipulating strengths can also be used to move/destroy huge things, although this places huge strain on his own body and puts his life at risk, as he could accidentally kill himself if he does something wrong. Noxis has studied a lot into this magic, as he doesn't feel like killing himself just yet. Gravity manipulation is done with the mind, although its easier to also move your body while doing it, and it requires good concentration.

alrighty i read most of this but i'm not sure if i missed a part of this since it's pretty big haha. i don't have a moment to read currently so in the IC, if i end up breaking a rule or mistaking something then that does mean i didn't have time to really read this all up. i'll be making a character sheet very soon. just a question here though.
