Sporum - Use Of The Word "Buttsecks"

As I've posted in the last thread, I've opened up a discussion about the current moderation action of the word "buttsecks" on the Sporum. So far, there's only been two of us who have been able to discuss it in the last 12 hours but I'm hoping to get a few more SM opinions.

At the Moment:
It looks like so far that I'm going to have to officially tell you all to outright stop using it on the Sporum and that use of the word will occur an automatic suspension at the moment (I've been given a note that the ones who have been given 7-day suspensions so far over use of the word are repeat offenders of either bypassing the censor or posting profanity). No official decision yet on whether it should be added to the forum censor.

I'll update this thread as I get more SM opinions over it.

I see... but I've never been caught bypassing the censors, and my only other offense was a protest banner. Isn't there some leeway there?

His suspension should at least be reduced since we now know there is clear content, as previously there was not.

I still feel one word earning 7 days is way too much, even if you've previously done something before (and it wasn't recent).

But at least we have some kind of rule or whatever you want to call this now.

We might not, but EA/Maxis do (use of the word falls under guideline violation of: "Keep posts clean: free of vulgarity, racism, profanity, and bigotry"). If the forum had an 18+ signup limit instead of the 13+, we would not have this issue whatsoever. As an SM, it does kinda fall under the 'job to take care of the kids' when it comes to preventing certain things from being said to them, about them or something guideline-breaking they could potentially stumble upon. I can try and make everyone happy in-balance with each other but I can see it as an almost-impossibility long-term.

The Sporum is still an official EA/Maxis community-used representation of Spore itself and all it takes is a report of a few regulars using something seemingly-innocent to be reported as a complaint straight to EA by some angry parent (bypassing us SM's and Community Admin's like Baza) for their wrath to filter down towards the forum which would be the absolute worst-case scenario. Hence when it comes to something pretty damn serious we got pretty panicky over the whole 'Suicide' incident on the previous Open Thread as an example. Even a simple censor bypass could be the seed for greater issues, no matter how big or small.
